H1N1

Well this last week and a half are finally over, my son had h1n1 and he had fever after fever, sore throat, headaches, runny nose and ear aches! He was so sick, but he is finally better and will be able to go to school monday. I gave him tylenol for fevers and keep moist wash clothes on his head and back, lots of water and juice. I mixed orange juice with cran-raspberry and put sipper lids on juice and put a bowl with ice next to his bed to keep water and juice in to keep it cold. He has only ate a little soup and soft bread, near the end he had pbj's and bean and cheese burritos. He had a few baked potatoes with sour cream and butter. A strawberry shake or two and the last few days he sucked on a lot of hall's citrus cough drops. The fevers were everyday for about 6 days but each day they were a little farther apart. He was a little dizzy at times, but drank a lot and he is so much better! Good luck to all of you who get this its harsh but you can do it and survive!

Also when you read this book she tells you about her theapist he is also listed in the book and he has a book called "How I got this way and what to do about it and it is a remarkable book for just about anyone who didn't grow up in a perfect family. Two Traveling Angels!

This is so good you must read all of it!
Two traveling Angels

Keep reading to the bottom of the page -- don't
stop at the feet (You'll see).
Two traveling angels stopped to spend the night
in the home of a wealthy family.
The family was rude and refused to let the angels
stay in the mansion's guest room.
Instead the angels were given a small space in
the cold basement.
As they made their bed on the hard floor, the
older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it.
When the younger angel asked why, the older angel
replied,
'Things aren't always what they seem.'
The next night the pair came to rest at the house
of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his
wife.
After sharing what little food they had the couple
let the angels sleep in their bed where they could
have a good night's rest.
When the sun came up the next morning the angels
found the farmer and his wife in tears.
Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole
income, lay dead in the field.
The younger angel was infuriated and asked the
older angel how could you have let this happen?
The first man had everything, yet you helped him,
she accused.
The second family had little but was willing to
share everything, and you let the cow die.
'Things aren't always what they seem,' the older
angel replied.
'When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I
noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the
wall.
Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and
unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the
wall so he wouldn't find it.'
'Then last night as we slept in the farmers bed,
the angel of death came for his wife. I gave him
the cow instead.
Things aren't always what they seem.'
Sometimes that is exactly what happens when things
don't turn out the way they should. If you have
faith, you just need to trust that every outcome
is always to your advantage. You just might not
know it until some time later...

 ONE-BALL ASTRA BABY SWEATER PATTERN

knitted from the cuff to cuff for baby
Pattern Here:
I made this for my veternarians new baby boy,
this was my first cuff to cuff sweater.
It was fun and it worked up pretty fast!

The yellow socks are for Sabrina her feet get cold very easily.
These help to keep them a little warmer.
I really need to make more, they are great!
Here is the link for the pattern:
socks

The blue easy knit slippers I learned how to make these when I was about 12. I have made a lot of these over the years. But this is the only pair I have a picture of.

This little green sweater I made for my neighbor, she had a little girl.
This sweater can be found all over the web, I was so suprised to see how many different colors and ideas have been used for this sweater.
Making this sweater was fun and fast.

It rained here yesterday early and then turned out to be a sunny day with a little breeze and it was just a great day! The kids are ready for school and not terribly excited to go back, with all the rain we had this year it made summer seem very short. They couldn't spend as much time as they would have like to outside.
I have been working on some projects and made some progress with Gertrude's (my frenchie) sweater! It is so cute and very soft, she lays on the window sill in the sun alot. Well when her sweater is finished maybe she will be warmer. Here is my progress so far.

slipper socks

Just thought I would show you my latest finished slipper socks, they are really fun to crochet. I use some scraps I had and they are very heavy and warm. Sabrina's in her wheel chair at school alot so we use 2 to 3 heavy socks to make sure her little feet stay warm. I will post where I got the pattern soon, but it's on the web and it's free!
It's so cold here, I think it will be nice to get warm again.
I have also been subing at the school alot lately, that's been pretty fun and it pays too!

Life goes on.....

Well I haven't posted for a while, I've been knitting, crocheting and reading alot. We are all doing ok and I need to get more pictures of finished projects posted. We still have some frenchies puppies we are looking to find good homes for.
We have a lot of snow! And I am ready for summer, looking forward to getting warm again. Our littlest has had the chicken pox, but not too bad, she has had the immunization. And so the chicken pox is a lot milder that when my older kids had them.
Have been watching a new show called Christina Cooks, I am trying to learn to cook healthier and she has a lot of good idea's, I have tried a few. Can wait to try some more, healthy is a good thing. And loosing some weight wouldn't hurt either! More later.............
